Food Poisoning at Brazil Pizzeria Leaves One Dead, Many Sick
The victim, a 44-year-old woman, passed away despite being admitted to Pombal Regional Hospital on Monday, the municipal health department reported.
Over 100 individuals sought medical attention after experiencing symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and general malaise. All had reportedly eaten at the same restaurant on Sunday night.
Authorities confirmed that, as of now, only an eight-year-old child remains hospitalized. The pizzeria has been temporarily closed while the health inspection service collects food samples for laboratory analysis to determine the cause of the outbreak.
Officials are continuing to monitor the situation closely and have urged anyone who visited the establishment and experienced symptoms to seek immediate medical attention.
